SOUTH ATACAMA PROJECT

Construction, operation and maintenance of a 2,000 litre per second desalination plant litres to supply fresh water, among others, to the mining industry in the Atacama region.

The plant will be located in Huasco Bay, Freirina, Atacama Region.

The project already has environmental approval (RCA No. 090/2015) to produce and sell up to 440 litres per second of desalinated water to third parties. Currently processing a new EIA (Environmental Impact Study) to expand its Product Water capacity to 2,000 litres per second, positioning the South Atacama Project as the area’s primary non-continental water hub. The environmental, social, tourism and economic benefits that the production of fresh water for the Huasco basin generates, will be shared across the region.
